Table for Two, Please!

Welcome to Two Who Chew- a blog written from the perspective of a couple that’ve come to love a fantastic dining experience almost as much as they love each other. (Precious, isn’t it?)

Just to clarify from the get-go, this is not a “foodie” blog. No offense foodie bloggers- we think you are swell! We just believe that there is a whole hell of a lot more that goes into a dining experience than food. Don’t get us wrong, food is vital (literally), but we think it’s the moments before and after you gobble down your grub that help make a meal memorable.

We review a restaurant in its entirety, from ease of making reservations, to adaptations for dietary needs. Will the restaurant accommodate a large party? Or can you score a nice private table for a romantic evening out? Does the staff seem to go out the their way to make your evening memorable? Is your napkin folded when you return from the restroom? It’s the details that matter, and we will keep a keen eye out for the tiny things that make the difference between a meal and an experience. Don’t panic! We’ll talk about the food too! We’ve also created a Two Who Chew Cheat Sheet that will cover all the important specs!

So, who are we? We met in 2006 through mutual friends. It only took six years, some relocating and a lot of teasing for us to realize we were meant to be together. Though Jamie has several years of experience working in restaurants, he now works as a Media Planner for a digital marketing agency in Tempe, AZ. This means he maintains a pretty standard 9 to 5 schedule. Amy, on the other hand, works as a bartender and server at a popular restaurant in Downtown Phoenix, AZ. Because the restaurant industry requires Amy to work erratic hours with an inconsistent schedule, it is rare that the two of us get a chance to spend an evening together. As a result, we have begun to make the most of the nights we do have together by trying out local culinary hotspots and enjoying tasty meals!

Now, to anyone who knows us, it is no secret that we love the sound of our own voices. So, after spending the majority of our meals together discussing what we loved and hated about the restaurants we were visiting, we decided to join forces and let all of you out there in cyber-land hear what we had to say too! (Lucky you!)
